And he is supposed to rest too?!

My dad recently received his schedule for the chemotherapy and radiation (and other appointments). It is kind of ridiculous. He is supposed to have appointments at 7 in the morning, 1:30 in the afternoon and then daily 6 pm appointments. During all this he is supposed to still be living his life as normally as possible. Really!?
My parents are working on getting this scheduling changed up. I mean, MD Anderson isn't exactly next door and with parking at $10 a pop for each visit (don't get my mom started on the parking...) this is really not a reasonable option. Of course, through all this they also want my dad to be able to have the rest he needs to recover...and when is he supposed to get this rest??? I guess in the car to and from the hospital.

  2. Erin, I'm so glad you're able to do this blog! I've been wanting to know what's going on and haven't wanted to email anyone with questions to add to the burden I know you all are feeling. Our prayers are with you all -- I so wish I could be there to help with the trips down to the Medical Center or babysitting while you help out. So there's no way they can do the treatments at the new MD Anderson center in Katy? That would be so much more do-able. I hope and pray that difficulties will be eased and spirits will be comforted!

  6. Thank you Erin for doing this. I know that it will be helpful for me since I can't be there everyday to know what's going on...even if it is TMI or mundane.

    Love you all!!!

  9. Erin, does your dad have to make 3 trips to the hospital a day or does he stay for the whole day? I went back and forth to the hospital everyday for a month for the twins and that was a nightmare. I can't imagine your dad having to go for 6 weeks, then again and again after that. What a pain! I think this blog is a great idea because I did a lot of venting with my pregnancy and when the girls were in the hospital on my blog and it helped me get through that difficult time.
